NEW YORK – As the world remembers, honours and marks the 25th anniversary of the tragedy of Sept. 11, 2001, Aecon is paying tribute to colleagues who were lost that day.
In a post on X, the company states, “Each year, on this day we pause to remember those who died, and especially the 13 friends and colleagues who were employed by Aecon Engineering Services’ legacy company, Washington Group International, now part of the Aecon family.â€
They worked on the 91st floor of the World Trade Center.
“As we honor their memory, we reflect on the lasting impact they had on our organization and the importance of never forgetting the lives lost that day, the post reads.
Nearly 3,000 people were killed when hijackers crashed planes into the twin towers, the Pentagon and a Pennsylvania field.
