WSP to acquire energy consulting firm GCM Corpo

MONTREAL — WSP Global Inc. has entered into an agreement to acquire GCM Corpo Inc., a Canadian provider of engineering consulting and specialist services for the energy and industrial sectors.

The company has a presence in Québec, Western and Atlantic Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­, explains a release, and employs approximately 600 professionals, serving clients in a broad range of end markets, including energy, industrial and mining and metals.

The proposed acquisition will expand WSP’s platform in Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ by growing its core engineering consulting business and broadening access to clients in the energy and industrial sectors, including original equipment manufacturers.

The proposed transaction will also strengthen WSP’s capabilities in process engineering, industrial digitalization, operational technology (OT) cybersecurity, project and Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ management, project procurement, detailed engineering and environmental services, the release notes.

A portion of the purchase price for the transaction will be paid in WSP common shares to the sellers, including Fonds de solidarité FTQ, GCM Corpo’s largest shareholder.

Completion of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approval. The transaction is expected to close in Q4 2026.
