BRACEBRIDGE —ÌýThe Ontario government has announced it is expanding Ontario Corps by welcoming its latest partner, theÌýÌýto leverage its members and Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» equipment during an emergency.
During emergencies, the OSSGA can call on its members to facilitate access to expertise and available Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, trucks, snow removal machinery, portable generators and pumps, explains a release.
This equipment could help with flood mitigation, debris clean up, restoration efforts, transporting supplies and other activities as needed.
Ontario Corps has been deployed on several occasions to support emergency response. Most recently, volunteers were deployed during the response to summer flooding in Niagara Region and during the 2026 wildland fire season.

The network can be mobilized within 24 to 72 hours to help communities hit hard by emergencies, deploying resources such as personnel, debris removal tools, supplies, flood barriers and drones, the release adds.
There will also be a new Ìýthat will serve as the future home of Ontario Corps. This facility will be equipped with the technology needed to protect Ontario as the 24/7, year-round emergency command centre.
The OSSGA is a not-for-profit industry association representing over 280 stone, sand and gravel producers and suppliers. Collectively, members supply the majority of the approximately 164 million tonnes of aggregate used annually in the province.
