BURLINGTON, ONT. – Wolseley Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» has donated $20,000 to Indspire to help Indigenous students across Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» reach their full potential with funding for skilled trades post-secondary education.
The Wolseley Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Indigenous Bursary, which is part of the Building Better Futures program, provides funding for individual First Nation, Inuit and Metis students who are enrolled in full and part-time post-secondary studies in the skilled trades.Â
“Now, more than ever, the importance of skilled trades professionals is apparent, and yet the rising cost of education is often a barrier to success,â€ says Vanessa Lupton, communications manager, Wolseley Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³», in a statement. “In helping alleviate some of those costs, we’re hopeful more students will be encouraged to enter the trades.â€Â
Indspire supports students in remote communities, rural areas and urban centres across the country, dispersing financial awards, delivering programs and sharing resources with the goal of increasing graduation rates for Indigenous students.Â
